Ways of Water (WoW) is an Indigenous framework for leading systems transformation that fosters relational approaches through a four-phase, strengths-based, participatory process. It emerged from nearly two decades of collaboration with Indigenous Nations, organizations, and communities across Turtle Island and the Pacific.
We are living in a world out of balance. Sadly, many Western systems are disrupting social, cultural, political, and environmental systems worldwide, putting our collective well-being at risk.
To create meaningful and sustainable change, we must step out of the dominant framework that centers individualism and pervades many of our current systems. We need to re-integrate relational approaches into our systems and facilitate the re-alignment with values of connectedness to restore balance.
All WoW Phases

Systems are made up of people. While systems transformation often focuses on the structures, processes, and activities, people are the drivers, enablers, and sustainers of the systems.
Successful transformation relies on our collective effort, our ability to adapt, and our emotional commitment to the change. Ways of Water is for anyone interested in learning and leading others on a journey of reclamation, reconciliation, and the indigenization of existing systems.
